One of the things I loved about my time in IADT was Dungeons and Dragons. I fell in love with the storytelling part of D&D and when the campaign I was a part of ended, I couldn’t get rid of the feeling that the story wasn’t finished yet and I created my own campaign to continue the story of Valian Caelum. The very first character I ever made. As the Dungeon Master of this new campaign, I guided a group of players to the point the original campaign ended and saw this new groups interactions with the story I created and how they interacted with Valian allowing me to use the backstory I created for him and watched as both me and the character grew with this group. After 3 years his story coming to an end, I am nearing the end of my time in IADT. It’s only fitting that a character that means so much to me, that I have grown with during my time in college, would be the inspiration for my final project.

At a point in the campaign, Valian is infected by a parasite that is draining the life from him over time, he needed to find a cure for the parasite that has infected him. When he found that there wasn’t a cure he decided to go after the person that is controlling it. When the parasite becomes too painful to bare, Valian’s companions decide to cut his infected arm off to try and free him from the parasite or at the very least, give him more time…

With everything I had locked in the college, my project had to change from a physical to a digital one. I used my home laptop and pushed it as far as it could go to get a result I could be proud of.
