Come a Little Closer is an ongoing project about opposing feelings; intimacy and loneliness. Sometimes one can experience intimacy while alone, and often one can experience loneliness in the company of others. These images represent situations in which there is an uncertainty of emotion. A sort of ambivalence; being alone but feeling connected, and vice versa. I do not impose views of ‘good’ or ‘bad’ on any of these states of mind, as one cannot be without the other, and I try to photograph in a way that facilitates this objective way of thinking.
